University of Maine's Counseling Center
The University of Maine Counseling Center is open for all students. You can work with a counselor in a private setting which can give you the the opportunity to share your concerns, look at any options you may need, and work toward a solution for a better you.
The goals of the counseling center are to quickly provide contact and consultation for students, to respond as quickly as possible to those in crisis, and to provide the highest amount of quality service while staying within the limits of what is possible due to current level of resources available.
There are many different reasons you may need to seek help, and the counseling center can help with any one of them. They help with problems such as:
- Academic issues
- Problems with friends and/or roommates
- Relationship troubles
- Sexual assault and other traumatic experiences
- Feelings of stress or anxiousness
- Feeling sad or depressed
- Financial stress
- Adjusting to college
- Concerns with family
- Identity concerns
