The Mind Spa
at the University of Maine
The Mind Spa at the University of Maine was created to help students on campus relax and de-stress throughout the year. While the spa isn't exactly a counseling center, it is a way for students to learn different techniques for relaxing as well as a center to find serenity.
"One of the most common struggles our students face is how to manage the stress and anxiety that comes from trying to balance the various demands of a college student, from classes and work to navigating family and romantic relationships. While counseling can be very helpful for these concerns, we recognize that most students would benefit from learning a few new ways of managing their stress."

Different services include:
1. Biofeedback -- measuring heart rate
2. Creative activities
3. Meditation
4. Sun lamp / light therapy
5. Sensory Objects -- kinetic sand, orbeez, stress ball making, water painting
The Mind Spa also offers various programming sessions:
MONDAY- Info sessions
TUESDAY- "Tunes on Tuesday"
WEDNESDAY- Workshop
THURSDAY- Ted Talks
FRIDAY - Guided Meditation
The Mind Spa is open during the Fall & Spring semesters on Mondays through Fridays from 11am to 4:30pm. The Spa is located in the Outreach Office at 120 Memorial Union, 1st Floor.
